Mrs. Georgia Sepic began providing housing to refugees back in 2004. As each new group of refugees began arriving, Georgia began to notice distinct and various needs of each group; ranging from classes in English, life skills, laws and customs of the US & AZ, etc... Georgia decided to reach out to the government agencies, local businesses, non-profits, churches, schools and individual volunteers to begin hosting informational classes, orientations and trainings.
Over the years, her daughter, Anna Sepic, became actively involved in program coordination and volunteer outreach. The initial few classes expanded to over 40 individual year long classes both revolving and on an “as-need” basis connecting to 30+ partner organizations. Three years ago, Anna, with the help of her mentor, formed the entity and applied for 501 (c)(3) status to begin formalized work. In January 2016, Brophy College Prep, gave the first $1000.00 donation, and from there on, POTER Inc. was up and running. Today, we continue to partner with various organizations to continue our work to help the most vulnerable in our communities, providing critical resources needed to help individuals and families move to realized dignity through self-sufficiency, and the ultimate achievement of the "American Dream" which includes children attending and graduating high school and college, parents being fully employed as active and engaged Citizens, and finally as vested community members owning their own home and re-contributing to their fellow community members.
